Resveratrol has a positive effect in diabetes mellitus and diabetic vascular complications, due to its ability to enhance nitrogen oxide-mediated vasodilation. Resveratrol-rich foods have a protective effect on age-related diseases such as type 2 diabetes mellitus, atherosclerosis, cancer, arthritis, cataract, osteoporosis, hypertension, and Alzheimer’s disease.
